Detailed Plan Development
Logistics Engineering develops detailed requirements for the chosen concept. We plan the facility layout, warehouse management system, and/or other recommended systems in detail. Planning to this level is the best way to insure that the end result is consistent with the original concept.
These specific functional specifications are then compiled as Requests for Proposals (RFP's) and sent to experienced vendors. Finally, these bids are evaluated and the best vendor is selected for each component of the plan.
Once appropriate material handling concepts have been selected, Logistics Engineering develops conceptual facility layouts that depict the building and the recommended material handling equipment concepts. These conceptual layouts provide a unique opportunity to walk through the facility and evaluate the recommended material handling systems.
